Hempland Primary School was judged 'Outstanding' by Ofsted in 2006 and maintained this level throughout our Ofsted Interim Assessment in 2010 and to this day we strive to meet the same standards. During our inspection, Ofsted confirmed that the school has received the best possible rating awarded to schools - Outstanding.

Ofsted inspects four key areas – the achievement of pupils, the quality of teaching, the behaviour and safety of pupils and leadership and management. The outstanding judgement in each of these areas reflects how the school is ensuring that children from the York area achieve their full potential.

Ofsted also reports how students’ achievement is high, with students enjoying great success in crucial areas such as Mathematics and Literacy. The school's endeavors to support pupils and was recognised as well as the children's excellent behaviour and attendance. Making school life enjoyable for all.
